Has America gone completely mad? Why is there such a big hoopla about Ellen's adopted dog?  Is this worth headline news?  And what's with the crocodile tears?  You gave the dog away and now you are crying on national television.   I like Ellen a lot, but let's get real here.  We have a billion dollar war going on, people are senselessly dying every day, and America is talking about a dog that was given away?  What a great distraction from dealing with what is really going on around us.

Alexis - I totally agree with you!!! This whole thing is ridiculous.  The fact that has garnered so much media attention is absurd.  And yes, it is certainly serving as a distraction from the war which rarely gets resported on main stream news.

I am deeply concerned about our country.  Here we are more concerned about animals than we are about social issues affecting us as Americans.  I mean this is insane.

It's interesting to read this especially since I just read an article, "Obsession with Pets at All-Time High" at LiveScience.  Check it out at http://www.livescience.com/animals/071022-pet-obsession.html.  I thought I was the only person who got tired of people who seem to advocate treating pets better than they treat people.  But I think its worst in the UK that here!
